Project Development

With decades of collective experience, we have a team of internal experts responsible for taking projects from conception to commercial operations. Our team works in close consultation with Indigenous communities, local landowners, government agencies, and other local stakeholders to site, build, and operate our facilities safely and responsibly. To learn more about our approach to project development, click here.

Development began on the m.ah a temEEwuh Phase II Solar Project in early 2025 and has focused on desktop environmental studies including biophysical and wetland evaluations, and cultural, heritage and archeological reviews.

The project is in the early stages of development, and we are continuously looking to solicit feedback. The m.ah a temEEwuh Phase II Solar Project team is working closely with Indigenous governments, various ministries within B.C., local governments, and the community at-large to understand decision-making requirements and to incorporate knowledge into the Project’s design.

The Project was submitted into the BC Hydro 2025 Call for Power. We anticipate BC Hydro will announce projects who were awarded an Electricity Purchase Agreement in early spring of 2026.

We are committed to ongoing engagement throughout the decision-making process for the project. We believe that trust is the foundation for long-term successful relationships, and we know that trust is only earned over time by working together with honest and transparent communications.

BC Hydro 2025 Call for Power

In July 2025, BC Hydro released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for clean or renewable resource projects that are cost effective, have a meaningful First Nations partnership, and can be operational before the end of 2033. If selected by BC Hydro under this RFP, all energy generated by the Project would be sold to BC Hydro under an Electricity Purchase Agreement for a fixed term of 30 years.

The RFP is structured to help ensure B.C. has sufficient clean or renewable energy to meet future needs. It aligns with B.C.’s  2021 Integrated Resource Plan, which indicates the need to acquire approximately 5,000 GWh/year of additional energy by no later than October 2033.

The results of the RFP are expected to be announced by March 2026. If awarded an Electricity Purchase Agreement by BC Hydro, the m.ah a temEEwuh Phase II Solar Project is expected to be built by October 2033. If the project is not awarded a power purchase agreement in 2026, we will continue to progress development in anticipation of a future BC Hydro power procurement.

Expected Timeline

The timeline and targeted start of operations date for the Project will be determined by future interconnection studies to be performed by BC Hydro.

Open House & Engagement Summary

Public Open House #1

On October 23, 2025, we hosted our first open house for the m.ah a temEEwuh Phase II Solar Project at the Logan Lake Recreation Centre. This open house provided an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project, share feedback, and meet our project team.

If you missed this event, you can find the materials shared under the ‘Additional Resources’ section below.

For more information about Phase I and previous open houses in the community, please view the m.ah a temEEwuh Phase I Solar Project.

Project Infrastructure

The proposed Project consists of five development components: a solar photovoltaic panel array, a shared electrical substation, shared upgrades to existing site access roads, perimeter fencing and approximately 1.5 kilometres of new shared transmission line, with an interconnection point to the existing BC Hydro transmission line 1L205.
