Project Development
In 2011, Nlaka’pamux Nation Tribal Council (NNTC) first began development work began on the project and secured an electricity purchase agreement (EPA) with BC Hydro. BluEarth was first identified as a project partner in 2015, and we formed the quA-ymn Solar Limited Partnership in 2019. Together, we identified and developed potential sites for this project, and the final location was selected. In 2019, the quA-ymn specific EPA was confirmed with BC Hydro, allowing development work to advance. BluEarth and NNTC consulted with stakeholders, completed further technical and environmental studies, and obtained all necessary permits as part of the development process.
The quA-ymn Solar Facility reached commercial operations in 2025 and will provide clean, renewable energy for up to 40 years.
We are committed to engaging stakeholders in the decision-making process for the project. We believe that trust is the foundation for long-term successful relationships, and we know that trust is only earned over time, by working together with honest and transparent communications.
