Grant Arnold Joins BluEarth Team as Vice-President, Business Development

Calgary, Alberta (March 11, 2011): BluEarth Renewables Inc. (BluEarth) today announced the addition of Grant Arnold to their executive team in the role of Vice President, Business Development.

Grant is a civil engineer with an MBA and 18 years of commercial and technical experience in energy and infrastructure development, operations, and management. Grant has spent the last 10 years in the renewable energy and natural gas business units at a major energy company; his most recent role there was Director of Wind Project Development and Operations where he led a team responsible for the company’s wind portfolio across Canada.

The role of Vice President, Business Development is a key role for BluEarth that will focus on the acquisition of renewable power projects, partnerships, and companies that are a fit with BluEarth’s strategic goals and growth strategy.

BluEarth is focused on the acquisition, development, construction, and operation of run-of-river hydro, wind, and solar projects in North America, with an initial focus primarily in Canada. BluEarth’s strategic goals include the acquisition of renewable projects in development and operating assets. To date BluEarth has raised over $167 million in equity committed capital from its founders, ARC Financial, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, and other investors. Coupled with the most experienced renewable energy development team in Canada, BluEarth is well-positioned to advance power projects that may be lacking capital or experience.

“We are very excited to have Grant join the BluEarth team. Grant brings with him a wealth of renewable energy business development experience, and will further add to the bench strength of our great team,” said Kent Brown, President & CEO of BluEarth. “With strong additions like Grant to our team, we continue to set the stage to propel BluEarth into the leading renewable power producer.”
