BluEarth Announces Recipients of its 2017 Aboriginal Clean Energy Scholarship (ACES)

Calgary, Alberta – (November 08, 2017) BluEarth Renewables (BluEarth) is pleased to announce it has awarded its 2017 Aboriginal Clean Energy Scholarship (ACES) to six deserving recipients. This scholarship provides financial support and skills development opportunities for Canadian Indigenous students pursuing trades certification, diploma, degree and other programs from accredited post-secondary institutions.

“Since BluEarth started its ACES program in 2014, we have awarded over $25,000 to Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education, and I want to extend my congratulations to our 2017 recipients,” said Grant Arnold, President and CEO. “BluEarth is committed to building mutually-beneficial relationships with Canada’s Indigenous communities, and our ACES program is one way we support the academic goals and collaborate with these future leaders.”

 

The 2017 ACES recipients are:

  • Cheyenne Boulrice, Sault College
  • Cole Burns, University of Calgary
  • Tyler Hart, University of Alberta
  • Kathryn Xyemetkwe Ignace, Thompson Rivers University
  • Zackary McDonald, Queen’s University
  • Austin Zacharko, University of Alberta

The ACES scholarship offers a unique opportunity for Indigenous students to gain work experience and learn from one of the most experienced renewable power generation teams in the country.
