BluEarth Renewables Enters New Corporate Credit Facility

Calgary, Alberta – BluEarth Renewables has entered a CDN$300 million corporate credit facility with a syndicate of five financial institutions: CIBC Capital Markets, National Bank, Desjardins, ATB Financial, and Rabobank.

Legal advisors for the borrower were Blakes, Cassels & Graydon LLP as Canadian counsel, and Norton Rose Fulbright as U.S. counsel. Legal advisors for the lender were Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP.

“The new revolver reflects the financial markets’ positive views of BluEarth,” said Grant Arnold, President & CEO, BluEarth Renewables Inc. “We are well-positioned to continue our growth trajectory, and the new facility supports that by providing even more flexibility.”

The new loan, which replaces an existing corporate revolver, is one of the first of its kind. An innovative departure from traditional sizing and covenant tests used to fund loans in the infrastructure sector, it provides BluEarth with an increased ability to fund development opportunities and acquisitions along with other strategic and operating initiatives across North America.

“BluEarth is on track to achieve its ambitious growth targets for 2025 and beyond,” said Mr. Arnold. “We now have additional means by which we can be agile and take advantage of our dynamic and fast-evolving markets.”
